The Year That Was 2012 is a full-colour tabloid that is published and inserted into APN regional newspapers in November or December each year.
All schools in the region are invited to participate in the publication that profiles the school philosophy, and showcases student successes and achievements. Schools provide photos and text profiling the academic, cultural and sporting highlights and activities students have been involved in.
APN regional newspapers seek advertising to fund one page in the publication for each school or alternatively, schools purchase their own page. There is also an option to purchase an additional second page.
All participating schools receive FREE copies of the publication as a keepsake.
Proceeds go to the NiE Literacy in the Homes programme which provides free newspapers and resources to lower decile households in each APN newspaper distribution area.
